Grand Canyon for adventurers young and old

Grand Canyon is known for a destination for adventurers seeking to hike the steep canyon trail, raft the rapids of the Colorado River and more, but 5 million visitors annually, it offers plenty of educational adventures for children of all ages. The park is a wonderful place for families: they can experience together one of nature's most amazing accomplishments. The park includes the South Rim which is open year-round and the North Rim, which is open from May to October. Ranger led activites include fossil walks, geology walks, history walks focused on the park's indigenours people. There are six South Rim lodges, operated by Xanterra Parks and Resorts, and RV village and rail, bus, mule and raftging tours. Combine a railcar ride from Williams AZ with overnight accommodations int he park. Two hour mule rides are avialable for older adventurous children, with an overnight stay and meals at the Phantom Ranch lodge. Rafting trips on the Colorado River, bike rentals with a guide and self-guided tours are just a few of the things to do at this wonderful park. Tours of all kinds are available to the Grand Canyon including one by Disney.
